Tuesday Story Insight: Cooper and Owen's Song

One of my FAVORITE things about writing is the fun I have creating playlists for each story. Sometimes songs overlaps but then there are the songs that come in and POW ... help define the book and give that emotional connection to characters.

BITTERSWEET MELODY was no different, Cooper Hensley, the male lead, served as a Marine. It was there he met his best friend and brother, Owen Sawyer. These two experienced a lot together, witnessed horrors that come with war, relying on each other to get through each deployment. That is until tragedy struck - killing Owen and injuring Cooper bad enough he was medically released.

Hands up who watched the Hobbit trilogy? I ask because there was a song the INSTANT I heard it, I burst into tears. It was my Cooper and Owen song and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I heard it those same heartfelt emotions surfaced. It also didn't hurt that it was Ed Sheeran sang it. *insert fangirl SQUEE here* I must've listened to this song hundreds of times so, in our countdown to October 25th and BITTERSWEET MELODY'S release, here's the lyrics and link to YouTube so you can listen as well.
